About us
The SexySelfies story
I started SexySelfies in 2016. Since then it has launched on the App Store, lost its funding, made it through COVID and moved to the web. The version you see today I rebuilt from scratch in 2025.

Why it exists
In 2016, people were being banned from Instagram and Facebook for posting bikini photos, fitness content and sexy selfies. A beach photo could be enough to get an account suspended. At the same time, those platforms were running ads far more revealing than anything their users were punished for.
I built SexySelfies so that you control your content, you earn from it, and you decide what is right for your audience.
You can be sexy, but only if we profit from it.
How we got here
From the first iPhone app in 2018 to the platform we run today.
-
2016
The idea
I founded SexySelfies so people could post sexy content without arbitrary bans, and be rewarded for their confidence instead of punished for it.
-
2018
First launch on iPhone
The first version went live as a native iOS app on the App Store. Members liked it and creators were earning.
-
2019-2020
Funding lost, then COVID
We lost our funding, and then the pandemic hit. OnlyFans took off during lockdown, and we did not have the money to compete with its marketing.
-
2021
Moving to the web
I moved the platform to the web. Apple and Google no longer took 30% of every sale, it worked on any device, and no app store could change the rules on us.
-
2022-2023
Trying an off-the-shelf platform
I tried running the site on Scrile Connect, a white-label creator platform. It was expensive, awkward to use and too rigid to change, and it convinced me I would have to build my own.
-
2023-2024
Back to school
I went back to university and earned a degree in full-stack MERN development: MongoDB, Express, React and Node.js, plus UX and UI design, payments, security and scaling.
-
2025
Rebuilt from scratch
I rebuilt SexySelfies myself and relaunched it, with every feature designed around creators and members.

What we stand for
-
Post without fear of a ban
Full nudity is allowed, including artistic nudity. The line is vulgar or hardcore material, and it is written down in our Community Guidelines.
-
Creators keep 80%
There are no subscriptions. Members pay $1-$10 for each photo or video they unlock, and creators can cash out whenever their balance reaches $50.
-
Verified creators
Creators pass ID and age verification before they can earn, and anyone can report content they think breaks the rules. Read more on our Safety page.
-
Made for real people
SexySelfies is for everyday creators who don't want to shoot hardcore, and for members who would rather see real people than studio productions.
Who built this
I'm not a Silicon Valley name and I don't have a blue checkmark. I saw a problem in 2016 and kept going through a lost round of funding, COVID and OnlyFans taking over the market. In my 30s I went back to school to learn to code, and then I built this platform myself.
It has taken ten years so far. I believe people deserve a place where they can be themselves, sexy selfies included, and that is what I'm building.
